KJ Bell
KJ Bell is a multi-talented creator, performer, and teacher based in Los Angeles.
A writer and musician from the age of 8, KJ spent years in various roles in music education before moving to LA in 2017. He taught in classrooms, private lessons, clinics, and community ensembles while performing with multiple musical ensembles in the Four Corners area of New Mexico and Colorado, where he was raised and went to college.
With a mind that refuses to allow him to choose one thing, KJ writes projects in several mediums, both fiction and nonfiction. In addition to the stories, essays, blog posts, and poems he fills notebooks with, he also writes songs and composes music for traditionally classical instruments and ensembles.
An accomplished string player, vocalist, and conductor, KJ has performed in internationally renowned venues like Lincoln Center in New York, and St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. He has performed in orchestras, chamber ensembles, choirs of all shapes and sizes, and spent a single semester in his college’s Concert Band, where he claimed last chair clarinet and met everyone on the half notes. Since moving to Los Angeles he has focused on his personal songwriting and composition.
KJ continues to teach private music lessons while pursuing his other creative endeavors. More information on his teaching can be found on his studio website That KJ Teaches.
