To Love a Human
I don’t know how to talk to you
Because you are human
And I have been stripped
Of that identity
Melted by the lack of sun
Atrophied in numbness
Sitting on my own
Away from mortal beings like you
Consumed by my own darkness
I am something alien
Incapable of loving you
Because I cannot love myself
Lost to the tremors
Of my own blackened stillness
I cannot reach for you
Or begin to save myself
From what time has taught me
Is the inevitable leaving
Of anything and anyone
The doomed heart of this humanoid
Even slightly begins to love
