Dear Man on the Train
Dear Man on the Train,
I was standing on the platform this morning and I saw you on the train. When we made eye contact I felt a strange electric jolt in my body and I recognized you on a cosmic level, knew in that moment that you were the person I was supposed to be with. I never believed in love at first sight, always thought it was complete nonsense made to sell books and movies. But it is the only way I can describe what happened when our eyes met. We never even said a word to each other, we just had ten infinite seconds of eye contact before the train pulled away.
I want to see you again, but I can't. I can't see you because it would destroy my life. That's how powerful the feeling was. It would destroy everything because my boyfriend was standing right next to me. I looked over at him and knew that things had changed, and he had no idea.
I hope I never see you again, but I really want to.
