Dear Man on the Platform
Dear Man on the Subway Platform,
It was a typical morning. I was running behind and crabby because I didn't want to go to work. I'm quickly coming to a place where I hate my job and that makes me hate every aspect of my life. But then I saw you. Through the shuffle of people entering and exiting the train I saw you through the window, standing on the subway platform and you intrigued me. In a way that no one ever has before you caught my eye. When we made eye contact I knew that I had to meet you. I felt a deep, instant connection and infatuation that I had never felt for anyone before, let alone another man. Then the train pulled away.
I watched the faces near you blur together, then turn into the wall of the tunnel, all with your face superimposed over them. It was like your face was burned into my retinas. I can still see it even now. It feels a little scary, but I hope you'll be on that platform again someday. I have to talk to you.
