Floating Words

Poetry from the core of me.

Libera Me

Free me from the chains

That bind me to your memory

I am tethered far too tightly

They constrict my chest

Snapping all my ribs

Which then compress my broken heart

Holding it together

As they tear it apart

It would be much better

If we had never met

If I had no memory

Of the love that we had shared

If all of us were stricken

From the record of my mind

Lifted from the impressions

On my bones and in my joints

As it is I shiver

When I think of you

Convulse and seize when I

Remember that you're gone

If there were just a way

Some possibility of you

Liberating me

I beg you

Please find a way

To release me from the chains

That keep me bound to you
