Floating Words

At a yoga class the teacher said

“Only you know how your body feels”

And I screamed in my mind

I can’t lie to you

Even if I wanted to

It contradicts the way I love you…

I think that I’m disintegrating

Crumbling into ashes

Can’t seem to find a reason…

Enjoy the new life

You will lead

Without me…

The past sat down beside me

To tell me a few things

Reminding me of what it knew…

I weep for those we’ve lost

In senseless hatred

My heart breaks for those who mourn…

Do you enjoy the moments

The ones that slip between

The cracks and dents

Can you see through

My glass cage heart
